Maeve Okafor.

Owner since 2021. ASSE 5110 since 2018, journeyman plumber since 2017. Covers the south side, Bay View, Mitchell Street, and the Polish-flat neighborhoods around St. Stanislaus. The person on the truck most likely to ask about your soda gun.

Path

Maeve Okafor's mother is from Lagos and her father from West Allis. She grew up on the south side, attended Mitchell Street's Forest Home Avenue School through eighth grade, took the four-year MATC plumbing apprenticeship beginning 2013, became a journeyman in 2017, and earned the ASSE 5110 in March 2018 — three weeks before joining WPCC as the second tester on the truck. She bought into the practice in January 2021 alongside Stoltzfus when Ferraro restructured the LLC into a three-partner organization.

What she does now

Okafor covers the south-side and Bay View districts, which is the largest district by account count (487 accounts in 2025). Her premises types skew heavily restaurant, bar, dental, and Polish-flat multifamily. She has driven a Ford Transit 250 (truck van #02) since 2019 and replaced its third set of tires in March 2026; the truck has 187,000 miles on it.

She is the office liaison — meaning when MWW's Cross-Connection Section calls with a rejected filing, she's the one who picks up and walks through the correction. She has direct relationships with the MWW Cross-Connection desk staff and with the inspectors at Wauwatosa, West Allis, Greenfield, Cudahy, and St. Francis water utilities.

Specializations

  • Restaurants and bars

She has tested the carbonator RPs at the majority of restaurants on Kinnickinnic between Becher and Russell, and at every bar in the National Avenue corridor between 6th and 16th Streets.

  • Polish-flat multifamily

The 1900s-era Polish flats on the south side have boiler chemistry that often surprises a tester from out of district. She knows which buildings have glycol and which don't.

  • Bilingual customer interaction

A meaningful number of our restaurant accounts are owned by Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs. Okafor handles the customer-facing communication, the test report read-out, and the AHJ submittal coordination in Spanish where it helps.

What she's looking at right now

The 2026 cycle, Q2 in progress. The May test queue includes 14 restaurant accounts on Mitchell Street and 22 dental accounts in Bay View. Currently scheduling the September dental block.
